Medical Outreach Healing the People of the Remote Villages
Our missions team has ongoing trips to provide medical care to the villages. In one week last year, our doctors and medical staff of six treated more than 2100 Ugandans for a variety of issues, injuries and ailments. During the week, 59 also gave their lives to Christ. God continues to heal their bodies from the inside out.
These medical missions are designed to bring trained medical professionals, doctors, nurses and medical students into areas of Uganda where medical treatment is simply not available. For nearly every rural village, medical treatment can be many hours to many days away by walking. Unlike the west, there are no cars or transportation to take sick people to clinics or hospitals. In the village of Kisanga, several women died in childbirth because there were no nearby clinics or cars to take them for emergency medical treatment. CTM is looking to providing motorcycles to pastors ($1,200 per motorcycle), as well as increasing the number and frequency of medical mission outreaches to the rural portions of Uganda.
