Planting the Living Water and Providing Clean Water for Families is a Dire Need
Because Uganda as a nation lacks infrastructure to provide clean drinking water to its people, many families are forced to walk hours to fetch water that is dirty and contaminated.
One thing has been made crystal clear over the years. Whenever the Living Water of God is provided with clean drinking water, the people will come. The country of Uganda does not have the infrastructure in place to provide clean water to people who live outside of the main cities. Villagers must rely on walking to any available water source, usually standing water lakes or ponds and fill ‘jerry cans’ with water. Jerry cans are yellow, hard plastic containers which can hold about 8 gallons of water. But the water that locals fetch is contaminated and dirty. The vast majority of people suffer from some sort of water-borne illness. Uganda has one of the highest rates of disease in children due to contaminated water.
By digging a clean water bore hole near a local church, pastors are able to help people with clean water and speak the Word of God into lives. We are seeing changed lives and resurrected communities through Living Water/Clean Water initiatives. Depending on how deep the water table is, costs for a clean water bore hole can range from $5,500 to $8,000, and can serve several thousand people. People should not be dying in the 21st century due to drinking dirty children.
